Mi nombre es Alicia Avelar Olmos de Carrillo, vivo en el norte de California pero soy nacida en el Municipio de Nochistlan Zacatecas y viviendo en San Jose desde la edad de dos años. Aunque Nochistlan no esta en Jalisco, considero que esta muy cerca de la region de los Altos.
Me interesa mucho la idea de una reunion en Jalisco. Por cierto que cuando Maria Cortez y yo acudimos a la conferencia de Saltillo Coahuila, nos dijimos una a la otra que que bueno fuera si en Jalisco o en Zacatecas se pudiera hacer algo semejante. Espero que se realice este evento en el futuro
Voy para Guadalajara el dia dos de Julio y para Nochistlan Zac como para el dia cuatro de Julio. Aunque no hubiera reunion para estas fechas me gustaria conocer algunos de los integrantes de Nuestros Ranchos que radican por esta region.
Si alguien se interesa en un pequeño encuentro, avisen y asi nos ponemos de acuerdo.

Hola Maria, y también a todos los interesados,
Nos estamos poniendo de acuerdo para fijar la fecha y el lugar de la
reunión. Estoy viendo la posibilidad de invitar a algunas personas que
conocen mucho de la genealogía e historia de la región de Los Altos para ver
si nos hacen el favor de darnos como un tipo de mini conferencia. No hemos
puesto fecha porque primero nos gustaría preguntarles a estas personas en
que fechas estarían disponibles en caso de que acepten nuestra invitación.
Lo más seguro es que sea aproximadamente entre fines de julio y agosto, pero
enseguida que confirmemos se les avisa se les mandara un aviso con los
detalles del evento a todas las personas que han mostrado su interés en
asistir a nuestra Primera Reunión de Nuestros Ranchos en Los Altos, que
esperamos que no sea la última. Pensamos cambiar de sede cada año para poder
hacerlo en un diferente pueblo cada ocasión y así conocer a todos los
municipios de la región.
Los que no puedan asistir a esta reunión tendrán la oportunidad de hacerlo
el próximo año. Las personas que han mostrado interés son las siguientes:

Calif. gathering that was held by John gonzalez, where I learned about a couple of books that are out there and that you migh be able to give me a lead on how and where to get them without going to Mexico. The first one is Retonos de Espana en la Nueva Galica by Mariano Gonzalez Leal; the second one is Sagrada Mitra de Antiguo Obispado de la Nueva Galica by Maria de la Luce Montjano Hilton.
Do you know where I migh be able to find them here in the USA or do you know of anyone who will be attending your meeting in Mexico who would be willing to get them while they are there. Many thanks.

Juanita thank you so much for providing me with info. Rick responded and told me that he can get me a copy of the book and suggested that maybe someone who will attend the conference there in Jalisco can bring the book back and mail it to me from the USA, I agree with that suggestion.
I once knew a co-worker (MSW) who was from Edinbrugh, TX her name was Enelda, but I just can’t remember her last name, I remember she was very bright and very active there in her hometown. What a small world. Again, thank you, stay safe, be blessed.

I would be very interested in participating in the Los Altos trip. I travelled there with my husband in 1997. My Rodriguez line is fromTeocaltiche, Jalisco, with some ties to San Juan de Los Lagos, which I visited in 2006.
I met the cronista Mr. Rameriz during the trip and some Rodriguez who are related somehow at the great-great-grandfather line,as all others settled in Needles, Ca in 1917.

By the way, are you researching the ESPARZA line? My husband was Esparza thru his mother, and there is a family tree book on them at LDS in Harlingen. I never went that route since the couple did not marry but did have a child together.
