Another de Villalpando document…
My maternal 4th great grandparents were Francisco de Pena and Maria Albina de Villalpando. They were married 19 Feb 1783 in Teocaltiche (Nuestra Senora de los Dolores), Jalisco. Albina’s parents (My 5th great grandparents) were Juan Manuel Villalpando and Maria Gertrudis Soto. They were married 20 Feb 1757 in Teocaltiche (Nuestra Senora de los Dolores).
Any connections out there?

There is a Gabriel de Villalpando named in the Aguascalientes matrimonial investigations: He is the son of Diego de Villalpando and Da. Ysabel Losano, his propective bride is Da. Leonor de Sepulveda, daughter of Marcos de Sepulveda and Da. Mariana de Lomelin.
See the Aguascalientes Matrimonial Investigations, volume for 1702, image 205. It is dated 15 Apr 1702.
There is also a Cristobal de Villalpando, son of this Diego de Villalpando (see volume for 1704, image 46).
Hopefully this is the right Gabriel!

This is my gabriel. I descend from him and his wife Leonor sepulveda thank you so much for adding another generation. Are his parents related to the Villalpandos that you have researching. Thanks again.
GAbriels greatgrandson traveled to Taos New mexico to visit relatives where one of his sons was born. This son married in Jalos where the family line continued
I have leonor and her ancestors but had been stuCk on gabriels parents. Gabriel and leonor’s children were baptized in Nochistlan Zacatecas.
I cannot thank you enough. Two goals of mine are to connect the Villalpandos of aguasClientes to gabriel and to the Villalpandos of Taos new mexico. You have completed the first goal for me. Gabriel’s grandson was visiting relatives in Taos when his wife gave birth to a son before moving back to JalostoTitlan.
I now remember the name of the gentleman who showed me the document stating that his mother in law descended from Moctezuma. His name is John Schmall

I’m glad I could help!
I do not know, yet, how Diego is related to the Tomas de Villalpando family. Perhaps he is a son of Tomas de Villalpando and Maria de Veles.
There is also a Nicolas de Villalpando in Leon at this same time, who had children. I do not how he fits in, either.
My wife descends from Tomas de Villalpando through the Santiago de Escobar family.

There is a Juan Manual de Villalpando, son of Tomas de Villalpando, bap. 27 Dec 1690, in Aguascalientes. He married in 1715, in Asientos, Maria Eugenia de Narbais. I think he was born too soon to be your Juan Manuel Villalpando (he would have been 67); although he could be the same. I have no death dates or other family information on Juan Manuel and Maria Eugenia. I do not know if he had other wives.
This is not impossible as Juan de Santiago y Escobar married his 3rd wife at age 64, and had at 10 children that I can document with her (he also had lots from his first two wives!) All of this is documented.

Thank you, George! I keep “on lookin’. I don’t remember if I shared with you that this past March, I visited briefly the town of Villalpando in Spain. I took photos of a church dating to the 1600’s for one of my friends whose surname is “Vialpando”. (His family is from Colorado.) Who knows maybe I was standing on the ground of my Villalpando ancestors?
Have a great day, George.
