Capt. Andres Figueroa
Topic starter
Hi,
Hi,
I’m hoping someone has come across Capt. Andres Figueroa, from around 1590-1650. He is the brother of Joseph Figuera de Venegas, the priest of Jalpa, Zac from 1610-1655. It is possible that Capt Andres Figueroa also went by the name “Andres Figueroa Saavedra”
One of the Tieras & Aguas records I came across states that Andres left a will after he died sometime before 1655. Where would such wills be found in Guadalajara’s archives?
I also found an Andres Venegas who was alcalde mayor of Mestiticacan ( http://books.openedition.org/cemca/1599?lang=en) in 1616. I wonder if in this source, the capitan was using Venegas just as his brother used it as a second last name?
Thanks in advance,
Arturo
