First of all I want to give so much thankfulness to a good friend Ruben of nuestrosranchos for locating this difunto record of my GGGGGGG Grandmother Maria De La Candelaria (1655 – 1735) who is the wife of my GGGGGGG Grandfather Antonio Madera (1660 – 1709?). They were at Minillas of Mezquitic, Jalisco, Mexico.
This is a copy of the defunto record found on page 43 of “Defunciones (1712 – 1770)” on the LDS Records of San Juan Bautista Church of Mezquitic, Jalisco, Mexico:
Says she passed away in 1735 at the age of 80 wife of Antonio Madera. Made a testamento before La Justicia De La Jurisdicion at “Monte Escobedo”
Note: Monte Escobedo is a small village way up on the mountain that overlooks the whole valley. When your up there at Monte Escobedo, the panoramic view you have, Mezquitic looks like a tiny cluster of buildings in the open field and the valley.
Says, “tenia la edad de arriba de ochenta anos que fue la mayor accidente y recidia en la lavor de Minillas”
Seems she was older than 80 years since the comment “arriba de ochenta anos” but I don’t understand what is meant by “que fue la mayor accident”
Thank you all so much and I have so much gratitude to nuestroranchos members for the invaluable information you have provided me with finding generations farther back.
