I was wondering if anyone knows and can help me in “how to” download gedcom records to my computer.

Whenever I’m in a Nuestros Ranchos gedcom records film file, on the upper right hand side of the page it says: “prepare selected records for download”. I’ve been able to “prepare” them and when I click on download, it goes through the motion of download BUT it never does. The download never shows up on my computer. I have Windows 7. I’ve tried to “create” a file for the gedcoms but that doesn’t work either.

A few years ago, when I had Windows XP, I managed to download some of those gedcom records in the “favorites” section but that wasn’t beneficial for my intended use. Now I can’t even do that anymore.

I’d like to do that so that I can study ONLY the gedcom records I’d like to. i.e. create a folder of only one surname for easy research study.

I’m kinda computer savvy but I’m not a “whiz”.
