Not to worry about batch #’s, I inserted them when I attached my name to yours on the films we both have on permanent hold when I added additional film numbers. The films for Nochistlan without batch numbers are films after 1875 for Baptisms and after 1885 for marriages. I added them to the data base even though there is no benefit in terms of calling up the batch number but I use it to look up a film number for a particular town or area without having to go to family search.org and I kind of assumed that other people would do the same.

Maybe the name is spelled Cordero/Cordera on some records. You might
try that and see. Remember, lots of our ancestors AND the clerks were
terrible spellers. Marge V:)

On my father-in-law’s birth record/s (both church and civil) the spelling is Corvera. I read that the letter ” v ” is interchangeable with the letter ” b, ” in Mexican vital records, but I didn’t think of a double “r,” situation, as in Correra. As far as the records found on familysearch.org, I believe the spelling variations are being cause by LDS indexing, not being familiar with Mexican/Spanish surnames, plus the poor penmanship of priests. . The next best thing I need to do is to create a “spelling variation,” listing, and then check it with LDS online records. Thank you Marge, I’ve added your suggestion to my surname variation list…

If you have the batch numbers it would be helpful to others if you
supply them, but if you don’t. . .well its better to include your films
just the same.

with or without batch numbers if you own (have on permanent hold) them
submit them. Later if you find “a” batch number associated with a film
and if its not already listed then by all means add it. In fact if you
find a batch number its a good idea to then change the last digit upward
and then downward to find other batch numbers.
forexample:
for colotlan these are the batch numbers:
C602861
C602862
C602863
C602864
C602865
C602866
C602867
C602868
C602869
C604641
C604642
C604643
C604644
C604645
C604646
see how the batches “sometimes” only changed by one digit at the end of
the batch number. So for example if you came across this one: C602866
you would have been able to find 8 other batch numbers simply by
changing the “6” at the end to 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and then to 7, 8, 9
please ask if that explanation didn’t quite make sense I’d be glad to
explain further.
Also you have to try tossing in a J or K in substitution for the C as
they separate the Boy Children from the Girl Children at times.
Well this is the way I do it when I find a batch number for a new area
or one that I hadn’t been able to find batch numbers before.
