I have hit a major brick wall and hope someone can provide some tips. I am currently researching Juan Nicolas Peña who gave birth to Dionicio Yldefonzo Peña. Juan Nicolas was married to Juana Remigia Ximenes on 1 Sep 1765. I was able to find the marriage event on familysearch.org. Here now is the issue.

The marriage event of Juan Nicolas shows his parents as ‘unknown’. For records in 17xx, details are very limited. They do not include the grandparents names. So even by looking up Dionicio’s Baptismal record, it only gives me Juan Nicolas and Juana Remigia’s name.

This leads me to the following issues:

– I don’t know Juan Nicolas parents
– I don’t know how old Juan Nicolas was at time of marriage to determine DOB

by the way, Dionicio was born in Zapotlan El Grande, Ciudad Guzman, Jalisco in 1780.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
