You can download both books as pdf files, as well as other formats.

It is an honor being able to help others in this quest, I am glad I can be of some help. Genealogy has
not only become a hobby on the side, but has become a passion.

Thank you george for the links for the Spanish Archives of New Mexico, I will ensure a great
spot in my family’s archives.

Amalia,

Yes, I know that Fray Angelico referenced the DM for the Villapando in his book (he quoted his sources as footnotes). He read the entry as “Villa de Leon” as he stated in his ONMF book. Someone else who did a transcription for the PDF files read the entry as Villa de Con (il?). I said in another post that I thought it read Villa de Leon (not Con) and the “il?” is an abbreviation for iho legitimo, since the names of his parents appear immediately after.

I was hoping that either George or Daniel would verify what I think it really says. You said you were waitng for the complete copy of the DM or Marriage, so you don’t have even the part that says “Villa de Leon” that someone thinks says “Villa de Con (il?)”?

The two links you sent before were both for Ambrosio; I didn’t see the image for Juan Villalpando that supposedly says “Villa de Con (il?)”.
