I have found the grant of the dispensation for Nicolas Macias de Esparza and Gertruis Macias de Esparza for 3rd and 4th degree consanguinity, in February 1730, in Aguascalientes (matrimonial investigations, volume for 1730, beginning at image 84).

Nicolas’s grandfathers are Thomas Macias and Salbador Ruis de Esparza. I have been unable to trace them further.

Getrudis’s grandfathers are Nicolas Macias and Augustin Ruis de Esparza. I have been unable to trace Nicolas further; Augustin Ruis de Esaprza is traced into the Ruis de Esparza family.

From this dispensation I suspect Nicolas Macias and Thomas Macias must be related; but I do not know how.

Salbador must be part of the Ruis de Esparza family, but who are his parents?
