Does anyone know where to search for military records for Spanish soldiers of Nueva Galicia for the years 1600 to 1700’s?

Does anyone know where to search for military records for Spanish soldiers of Nueva Galicia for the years 1600 to 1700’s? I have several ancestors that are listed as captains but been unable to find any information of job descriptions and military units. your help is greatly appreciated.
