Sherri,

I doubt that Higinia and Sabina are the same person. They have different
parents. The parents of Higinia are Lazaro Muniz and Teresa Lopez. And
Sabina parents are Jose Refugio Jaime and Donaciana Pedroza. But with a
little more researching, you should be able to learn more about the two
wives.

Also, the indivuals that I added, they are not from any of my lines (I don’t
have any ancestral lines through Mexico). I found those individuals, using
FamilySearch. The reason, that I looked at your lines, is that I have
researched some Mora lines in Encarnacion de Diaz and Lagos de Moreno.

Thanks,
Jonathan

church record for the marriage between Narciso and Higinia but not Narciso
and Sabina. The date for Sabina’s marriage has to be between May 1888 and
early 1889 according to the baptism records of the children of Narciso. I
also have not been successful in finding death information for Higinia. The
marriage date you have for Higinia and Sabina are identical. Could it be
that they are the same person? If so, how could it be confirmed? You can
contact me personally at kanakalele@aol.com if you’d like to go into more
detail. Also, I have pictures of their graves-would this be something to
post on this site?

related? I’ve found 2 possibly 3 other relatives through this site!

Hi Jonathan,
Under normal circumstances I would not suspect that they were one person, however, Sabina’s father, Jose Refugio Jayme, was raised by Lasaro Muniz and Teresa Lopez-the parents listed for Higinia Muniz. Yes, it’s confusing. I’m reviewing films from Encarnacion so I will take a look at your reports and pass along anything I think may be helpful. I find lots of helpful info by just browsing.

I am doing research on the Reyes and Ybarra families that came from and through Mexico.

I have been researching Juan Joseph Reyes y Diaz, b. between 1716-1723 Zapotlan El Grande Mexico, d. Mexico, married to Maria Gertrudis Reyes between 1740-1748 Zapotlan Del Rey, Jalisco Mexico, b. Between 1720-1727 Zapotlan El Grande Mexico d. Mexico, son – Juan Francisco Reyes b. Bet 1745-1749 Zapotlan El Grande Mexcio, d. 8 Nov 1809 Mission San Gabriel, Alta California.

and

Desiderio Ybarra, b. about 1719, Mexico, married to Guiol b. about 1723

I have extensive information forward but not backwards, like who are the parents of the above, and where did they live, and their grandparents.

I am at a road block here and would appreciate any help anyone can give.

Thank you,

Tina Reyes

Hi Tina, welcome to the group. I think the mistake people most often make, is not being informed on greography, if you know the geography when researching, this will help you enough. History is important too. Well it appears your area is where my father is from. His grandparents being from Los Altos de Jalisco. Zapotlán el Grande is also known as Ciudad Guzmán. Zapotlán del Rey only has records around the mid 1700 to the present day. Ciudad Guzmán starts in 1666 or so. You have to worry about checking tin the right places. just because you dont find someone in X place doesnt mean they’re out there. Zapotlán del Rey will be tricky but Ciudad Guzmán will be easier. Ive done about 3 films from there (they were already in my FHC), people tend to stay around there in the area. You also have to take in consideration Los Altos is up the road from Zapotlán del Rey. They might have also come from there. Send me what you have I may be of some help. My cousin Linda Castañón has also done extensive research in these areas, you might want to communicate with her, she might have some tips and such for you. Just start ordering films when your ready.

Hi Tina and Daniel, I did check my data base and do not have this Reyes couple.  I will double check what I have but I only enter into into my files my families and the families they married into.  Daniel is right though, the films for Zapotlan El Grande/Ciudad Gusman have many records for Zapotlan Del Rey.

happy hunting..

Tina I checked my records and found in the years you mentioned baptism records from Zapotlan El Grande/Ciudad Gusman do not contain grandparents.  The marriage records do so that would be your best bet for finding elusive grandparents.

Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.

Hello,

I am very excited and happy to be able to be a part of this online community. Over the years I have had a lot of questions as to the whereabouts and descendants of my parents. My parents have been able to furnish some information regarding their ancestry, but there continues to be lots of gaps regarding dates and complete names. I was looking for information online one day when I bumped into this particular website. I knew both my parents were from Aguascalientes, and I had just assumed that their parents were too. Much to my surprise, after I asked my parents about my grandparents they told me that all of my grandparents were from Los Altos de Jalisco.

My name is Hilda del Carmen Davalos Moreno, I am interested in researching the Davalos, Moreno, Lopez, Franco, Marquez, Gutierrez families… I am barely starting so I have a shaky skeleton of information. It is an exciting learning experience to learn about my ancestors.

My maternal grandfather was Leodegario Moreno Franco b. Oct. 2, 1912 San Miguel el Alto, Jalisco, who married Maria de los Angeles Lopez Gutierrez born in 1916 from San Miguel el Alto, Jalisco. His father was Jose Trinidad Moreno Lozano married to Amelia Franco. Jose Trinidad Moreno Lozano died April, 18, 1957. My mother has given me these dates.

My maternal grandmother Maria de los Angeles Lopez Gutierrez’ parents were Josefa Gutierrez Jimenez from San Miguel el Alto, Jal. I have no dates yet regarding my great grandmother. My grandmother’s father was Refugio Lopez Munoz, from San Miguel el Alto.

The curious thing now is that my grandmothers are sisters therefore, my parents are cousins so my paternal grandmother Maria Elena Lopez Gutierrez’ (b. 1928′ parents are the same as above.

My paternal grandfather was Dario Davalos Marquez born in 1918 San Miguel el Alto. This is all I have as of right now so I am very excited to see what lots of new information will come my way… So I am asking assistance to find more information on all aspects of my family…

Thank you.
