Pilar and Felix,

Thanks for replying. There are sooo many names to look upj. It’s like it never ends. I thought I was pretty much “done” with my research, but I just can’t pass up any new leads. I am sorry your names don’t ring a bell.

Thanks!

Juanita

Annette,
Welcome to the wonderful world of Nuestros Ranchos. I’m not personally researching Aguascalientes but I’ve learned the farther back you go in your reseach the more parts of Mexico you find your families living in!

My name is Irene, better known as Kelly by my family and friends. I live in Southern Utah but my husband and I are gone from home a great deal. We will be leaving again most likely sometime next week to visit a daughter in the state of Washington. We will spend some time there and then travel to California for Christmas where we have a son in the Oxnard area. After that I am not sure what we will do. We do take are computers, printers with us. We also have the internet when traveling.

My maternal grandfather and his ancesctors are from Zacatecas, my grandfather was born in Moyahua. My grandfather is Francisco Reynoso o Renteria, born in 1885. His father is Gabino Reynoso o Renteria, his birth taking place in 1858, Moyahua. Gabino’s dad is Gregorio Reynoso o Renteria who married Maria Merced Ponce. Gregorio was born in 1823. He married Maria Norberta Romero. Gregorio’s father is Silverio of Zacatecas, born about 1771. He married Maria Gregoria Carrillo of Moyahua. Gregoria’s parents are: Jose Miguel Carrillo and Maria Geronima de Luna.

My mother used to relate to me that Gregorio’s father died when Gregorio was very young and that a family with the surname Renteria took him in and raised him. He was so grateful for their acts of kindness that he took on the Renteria name in their honor. I question this somewhat as I have searched the records, I have found that even Silverio is known as Renteria. Many of the documents I have seen list both names. There may have been an adoption, but I believe it is further back in time.

My mother’s people come from the state of Aguascaclientes. Some of her surnames are: Pulido, de Loera, de Luera, Reyes, Serrano, Romo de Vibar, Castorena, Ruiz de Esparsa and the list goes on. Will write more on my mother’s lines later. Now I have to see to my husband who just fell off a ladder. He was on the second to the top step.

Happy Hunting to all

Kelly

Saludos a todos los miembros de Nuestros Ranchos,

My name is Ramon, Barrios Miranda, http://www.nuestrosranchos.org/node/16372

First I would like to apologize to Mr. Puentes for jumping the gun on my previous intoduction, and to say thanks, for allowing me to join the group.

I’m researching both my father’s and my mother’s side of the family.

My grandfather’s ( Juan Mejia Miranda) family was originally from el rancho de Señor de Roma, Jerez Zacatecas. He was in the U.S. from 1916 to 1933, While living in southern California, he had several children, one being my father Ramon. When Juan returned to Mexico, they settled in Calera de Victor Rosales, Zacatecas.

My mother’s family (Barrios) were from Juancho Rey, Tepetongo, Zacatecas. They also settled in Calera. This is where my parents grew up,and later married. My wife is from there also, and we still have family there. My father brought our family to the U.S. in 1962.

I took a break from my research for awhile, and now I’m trying to get back into it, back to the questions I left off at. Maybe someone from the group might have some input.

My paternal line is : Ramon Mejia Miranda f. (1922-1997) Juan Mejia Miranda gf (1896-1977) He married Juana Mejia. Simon ggf (1868-1900) he married Altagracia Vega, Felipe gggf (a- 1844) he married Maria Ladislao Mejia, and Pedro Miranda ggggf (a-1820) he married Maria Marcos Perez.

I’m trying to find records for a direct connection between Felipe and Pedro, and on back from there. So far, I’ve only found Pedro referenced as the grandfather in his decentents’s birth or babtism records. I’ve been unable to find a marriage record for him, or his two sons, Esteban and Felipe ( why only two sons)? I need a direct connection (vital records) to this particular “Pedro Miranda”.

My maternal line is: Gregorio Barrios gf (1894-1972) he married Vicenta Hernandez, Cosme ggf (1868-a1904) he married Timotea Reyes, Mucio gggf (a1825) he married Francisca Miranda, Ciriaco ggggf (a1804)he married Gabriela Robles.

Thank you, and have a safe and happy Thanksging Day Holiday

Ramon
