Joseph and fellow rancheros!

the 1661 records i referenced are the same that are found in www.familysearch.org – IGI database.

As i looked at the original source document, the feeling that overcame me was a rush of electric excitment. To be able to hold the 400 year old parish records book was a privilige.

As far as pictures are concerned, i will upload a bunch of papaqui pics. is there a file size limit i should be concerned about, Joseph?

I will also post a description and historical background to the ‘papaqui’ soon.

Thanks Enrique,

when time permits please tell us more about the “Papaqui.” You can put
it right here on the research@nuestrosranchos.org list. also tell us
about the statement below about the 1661 records available on the
internet. Are you talking about the records on films that the LDS owns
(Registros parroquiales, 1627-1959) or are you talking about something else?

tell us more and if you have pictures of the festival please upload a
few to the Albums in the appropriate specific album.

thanks,

joseph

I can understand. those books were the ones being written into possibly
as you family was right there with the scribe giving them the
information. I’m not sure that is the way they did that but if they did
record it while your family was there it was like touching your family.
Way way cool.

if you have a way to optimize pictures for the web you might consider
this, but truthfully I would just pick a “small” bunch and not do too
many. Give us a good feel for the Papaqui but not too much. I would
think between 5-10 should do a good job, but if you need to upload more
go to it.
