Linda,

Thank you so much for all your work in sharing the Jerez records.

Linda,

Thank you so much for all your work in sharing the Jerez records.

Because of my slow dial-up, I can’t receive them through e-mail, but I am so glad that you have posted them to WorldConnect.

Recently, I broke down a brick wall on research I have been doing for a friend whose ancestors came from Jerez, as did my father’s. I finally found a birth record for her grandfather in the Family Search Pilot which gave me his parents’ names, and from there I went to your files in WorldConnect and I was able to find the rest of his ancestors going back to the early 1700s, including family groups. How you manage to do that is astounding.

I hope you know how many people you have helped, and helped me to help, because of your diligence.

Gratefully,

Emilie Garcia

I would like to thank Linda Castanon-Long for being so generous in the time that she took to diligently transcribe the Jerez baptism records from the end of the 19th century. She has also been generous enough to post them on our website for all users to download and read at their leisure.

The files can be found in the Files Section under Reference Materials:

Me gustaria darle las gracias a Linda Castanon-Long por ser tan generosa con el tiempo que ha dedicado a transcribir en forma tan diligente los registros de bautismo de Jerez, Zacatecas del fin del siglo XIX. Tambien ha sido tan generosa como para compartir las transcripciones y cargarlas a nuestro sitio para que todos los miembros puedan descargarlas y leerlas a su propio tiempo.

Los archivos se encuentran en la seccion de Archivos-Materiales de Referencia

I would also like to thank you for doing this! People like you who work so hard, and freely share your work, are the “gems of genealogy!”

You are a good role model for all of us!
