Has anyone used WorldCat ( http://www.worldcat.org) to locate hard-to-find materials and then requested them by interlibrary loan?

Actually, I’m doing that right now. My Spanish governor wrote some letters that are on microfilm at UC Berkeley. It’s in the queue, but I’m not sure how successful I’ll be. On the other hand, years ago I needed a set of books that were in Virginia, and I had no problem with that request. On another occasion, I could only use the rare book in the library, and I do know that sometimes the lending institutions require payment for lending books and materials that are rare in nature.

Yes, I’ve used it and I echo Rosalinda’s message about the variations
of ILL. Marge:)
