Added Introduction
Welcome, Manuel,
I am 67 years old, I was born in Brush (Morgan County) Colorado, and I have been a member of Nuestros Ranchos for quite a while. My husband has some Rubalcabas in his ancestry. They were from Jalisco and Aguascalientes.
I am interested in your New Mexico research. The moderator of Nuestros Ranchos also has a group for those of us who have ancestors from Juarez, El Paso and New Mexico. Did you know about this other group? You can join it on Yahoo Groups– http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Ciudad_Juarez . There is hardly any activity on that group, I think perhaps because of the name, but Rootsweb certainly lists many people with Juarez-El Paso-New Mexico ancestry that could benefit from joining that group. I guess this group has more people with recent ties to Mexico. The New Mexico people have ties mostly to Juarez, El Paso, Mesilla Valley and Albuquerque.
I will send you a private e-mail to ask more about your New Mexico ancestry. My mother was a native New Mexican, and her Spanish ancestors originated in Juarez which was then called Paso del Norte.
Again, welcome,
Emilie Garcia

My name is Manuel Castillo. I`m 70 years old. Was born in western Nebraska but have lived in Denver, Co. since 1967.
I`ve been doing genealogy research for the last 5 years.I`ts been a slow go, but I`m satisfied with my progress….Some times the ADOBE WALLS have a way to slow a person down.
I`m not too sharp with my computer skills. But I try.
I never got to know both sets of grand parents.
Like most people I didn`t pay too much attention to the stories my parents told to me.
Both my parents died before I got into genealogy. How I regret that!!!!
My New Mexico research is going well.
My Mexico research is slow but I have gone back 5 generations. The names that are my main interest are Castillo and Rubalcaba around Nochishlan,Zacatecas,Mexico.
