I have worked a lot with royal pedigrees, Ill take another look, I am so excited.

It seems Nuestros Ranchos, has been on a hiatus; we havent had a good debate

or discussion lately-this is what we need Thanks! One thing is for sure, he is

a relative of the royal Velascos. A lot of people think just because its a common

name people arent related. This is true and false. Im in the process of reading several

books; One book I enjoyed was La Relaction Secreta de los Conquistadores. It basically

said all the conquerors were related which is true. (At least the Spanish ones). Also

some Jews, blacks and some conversos came along to the NEw World. All these

Velascos were related. A name like “De Velasco” is much more than (meaning anyone

who came from Velasco). Its a royal surname used by various nobles and their

regular average joe descendants like me 🙂 today. -Daniel

Hi Marge!

Ive researched the Velasco family from its early beginnings.

This is why we research the purpose of genealogical

research thanks for sharing your opinion! Without evidence

we will never know; at least we have a foundation that we

will be able to prove or disprove it. I think many people also

ignore it and say “yeah right”. I was one of those, I discovered

early in my research on the Ornellas family who descend from the

portuguese royal family. Many people (this at age 15) Im 17 now.

did not believe or question my research; now one my colleagues

and parientes (Steven Hernandez and I) are researching more and

more and are getting close to a for sure answer. Using lots of

sources. Its as if the more I tried to disprove the ORnellas

royal descent the more of it was true. Im trying to say never

just through something out the door, what if it is true?
As I said in my other post; I have no doubt in my mind IT

is the same Velasco family; whether he descends from the duke

is another story. Bernardino was infamous to have all this kids

who were illigitamte all over Spain :). -Daniel

Hola Leon, Podias enviar tu fuente?

Gracias!

Daniel;

If you search in PARES for “Alfonso Ruiz de Temiño” you will find a letter already scanned from Bernardino Fernández de Velasco addressing to Alfonso Ruiz de Temiño y Velasco, it is possible that they were relatives but I insist that Bernardino may not be the father of Diego Temiño de Velasco.

Also, in the following link you will find the location of the document in the colección Salazar y Castro.

http://www.snae.org/salazar/listadoSalazar_n.php?indice=0&fecha1=&fecha2=&texto1=ruiz+de+temi%F1o&radio1=O&texto2=&radio2=O&texto3=

Best,

Thanks esto es guay!

Well It was common to find that relatives “hooked up”

relatives with a nice job. Ill look for Sancha de Velasco.

Yes, no Im being convinced the Duke is not the father.

Regards,

Daniel

You are welcome Daniel, I am sure that with your dedication as a genealogist -In the past I have read several threads of yours- this “puzzle” will take shape.

I am also convinced that these Velascos are of the same family, the Señores de Pomar.

By the way, there is also more info in PARES, Alfonso Ruiz de Temiño mentions a Comendador named Sancho de Velasco -¿Sancho Sánchez de Velasco?- as his grandfather.

Have a good night,

They were probably related Diego and Alfonso. Temino is not a common last name.

I looked up Fundacion de Mayorazgo; basically Diego was using a document from 1465

Where Ruiz de Temino or the family? had become hidalgos. We need to get a hold of that

ancestral chart ” Sigue una información de la ascendencia de Bartolomé Temiño de Bañuelos.

Zacatecas. 1589. Junio, 10″ These guys are from 1500s they probably understood more than

we do about Spanish life and hidalguia. I was told most Spaniards back in those times knew

about their ancestors; this is our shot. Where do find such a document? Mexico City

or Somewhere in Spain. -Daniel

Daniel;

The document is in the Colección Salazar y Castro located in the library of the Real Academia de la Historia in Madrid, Spain however a copy can be requested. I do not know if there is a copy of the document in México.

The document of the Temiño de Bañuelos brothers is a reference to their nobility and quality as hijosdalgo. Those families knew about their ancestors and probably owned Ejecutorias de Hidalguía because of the privileges of the noble class. The Ruiz de Bañuelos y Velasco family must have been inscribed in the local Padrón de Hidalgos as well.

Best regards,

I have already requested a copy; only time will tell if they respond. If

such a document exist along with an ancestral chart of the Temino de

Velasco family, this will ultimately change genealogy!

I got a response the whole document which would be digitally sent to me would cost

300 dollars! I dont have those funds at the moment for digital images! It can wait if anyone

else would like the info I can forward it. The document does include a family tree

of the Temino de Velasco family.
