It is one of my family names on my paternal grandmother’s father’s
side. I just typed the name into Google and up pops the meaning that
it pertains to thorns.

side. I just typed the name into Google and up pops the meaning that
it pertains to thorns. It made me think of the crown on Jesus’ brow
as He hung on the cross for us.

Yes, the name pertains to spine tree, thorn bush, and the like. It is a name in my mother’s paternal lineage which traces back to Santa Maria de los Lagos, Jalisco in 1666.
