I’ve discovered and documented 18 generations and bridged it to Spain. When in doubt, I ordered the microfilm of Mexico’s church records of baptismsm, marriages, and public records to verify my research.

2 sets of 11th Great Grandparents from Spain.

My 11th Great Grandparents’ (Hernando de Escobedo (b. abt. 1520) and Leonor Juairez from Spain) son Hernando, Jr. (b. abt 1542) married my other 11th Great Gtandparents’ (Alonso de Illescas (b. abt. 1520) and Bernadina Diaz) daughter Mari. Henando, Jr. and Mari left from Toledo, Spain and arrived at Nueva Espana (Mexico) on 24 March 1568. In abt. 1571 he discovered rich gold mines (now named Santo Domingo). In abt. 1593 he founded the city of San Luis Potosi.

Hernando, Jr. and his son Francisco, a Spanish Captain, (b. abt. 1569 in Zacatecas, Zacatecas) founded Jerez, Zacatecas and his son founded Monte Escobedo. Apparently Francisco received 1/4 of his father’s property. and in today’s money that was probably more than what Bill Gates is worth.

Now if I could only figure out how to claim a lil’ bit of that fortune! Ha! Ha!
