I think it is Mesquia (or Mesquias).
When I do a search for children of this couple, several come up in Santa Maria de los Angeles, Jalisco, in the 1820s..

Barbara… at first I thought it was Mijia, but on a second look I’m sure that you and George are correct that it is Mesquia.

Thank you, at first I thought it was Mijia, but after you mentioned it being Mesquia I agree.
Now that I have Maria Soledad’s last name I’ll check the Santa Maria de los Angeles, Jalisco, records that you suggested.
I’m trying to locate baptism and marriage information for their son Francisco Leanos, married to Maria Trinidad Corbera.
