their son Martiniano Velasco b. 1847
The 1870 census for Santa Cruz County, California shows there birthplace as
Guadalajara. They came to California in 1855, where nine more children were
born.
Jose and Maria ( or Mariana) were thought to have returned to Mexico before
1900.
